Al Mayass, A Lebanese Armenian Infused Restaurant, Sheraton Corniche, Abu Dhabi, UAE

August 6, 2017

We just randomly discovered this hidden gem within Sheraton Hotel yesterday. We we’re attending an event and our tummies can’t wait so we opt to look for a place to munch on. Some restaurants there will only be open by 6PM, so why not try this Lebanese Armenian infused restaurant.

From the hotel itself, you need to walk past outside the pool heading to the beach side to the right. From there, you can see the restaurant with a cute gold chair and round gold metallic plated table.

The front side is the non-smoking area with long tables for families and friends of numbers.

Past the reception is the Smoking area which is closed for sisha area. It has an awesome view of the manmade beach as the place was glass wall. The place is quiet and you will love the colorful interior.

Can’t help but take some snaps with my friends since it’s our first time there.

 Now, let’s discussed the food:

They are providing a complimentary toasted kuboos with salad. Salad tasted like oregano, ( sorry guys ‘cause until now I am not still that pro when it comes to Arabic food).

We also ordered my favorite “Batata Harra” which never fails me. It is yummy with big chunks and servings of potatoes. It’s juiciness, crunchiness and seasoning is to die for. My standard for Batata Harra is the one from Mosaic Restaurant and it is beyond my expectation. I’m glad I’ve discovered this place.

The other one we ordered is like a pizza but not a pizza. Crust is the tiniest ever, with beef on top which is Lahm Bi Ajeem Armani.

For main, we decided Shish Tawouk to be safe. We just go for chicken as there is no mixed grill. You need to order an individual for the meat or seafood that you’ll  love to munch.

They're so sweet that they gave us an Armenian  Bulgur Salad, called Itch or Eech, which is so similar to tabbouleh, as compliments of the house.

For drinks, we just head for water as the drinks are quite expensive. For other restaurants, it is just AED 20++ but here it AED 30++ .There is no room for dessert on the menu, which is sad.

Overall, it is a good experience and we are happy to discover this hidden gem here at Sheraton Corniche, Abu Dhabi.
